There was a minor upset in Izmir where 11th ranked Fenerbahce 2 (11-17) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Bornova (10-18) 105-99 on Saturday. Bornova shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Troy Franklin (183-1989, college: Coppin St.) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 assists for the winners. Power forward Brandon Huffman (208-1998, college: JSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Swingman DShawn Schwartz (201-1999, college: GMU) produced 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Marreon Jackson (185, college: Arizona St.) added 25 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Bornova and four Fenerbahce 2 players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce 2's coach Ertug Tuzcukaya rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bornova maintains fourteenth position with 10-18 record. Newly promoted Fenerbahce 2 keeps the eleventh place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Kocaeli and Mamak.
