The game in Cluj Napoca supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Politehnica Iasi (6-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Cluj CSU (3-9). Politehnica Iasi did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 83-63 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-63. Point guard Liviu Rotariu (192-1993) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Horia Dragoslav (-2002) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Politehnica Iasi players scored in double figures. Center Mihnea-Tudor Brie (196-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds and Ciprian Albu (-2002) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Cluj CSU's coach Florin Covaciu rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Politehnica Iasi maintains fourth place with 6-7 record. Loser Cluj CSU keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Politehnica Iasi will meet at home Sibiu 2 (#5) in the next round. Cluj CSU will play against Agronomia in Bucuresti and hope to secure a win.
