Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Galatasaray (13-16) rolled over 12th ranked Merkezefendi (11-18) in Denizl 78-53 on Saturday. The winners were led by American point guard Daron Russell (180-1998, college: Maryland) who scored that evening 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Sadik Kabaca (208-2000) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by Trinidad and Tobago center Johnny Hamilton (213-1994, college: UT Arlington) did not help to save the game for Merkezefendi. Canadian guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-1994, college: FSU) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galatasaray maintains eighth position with 13-16 record, which they share with Buyukcekmece and Bahcesehir. Loser Merkezefendi dropped to the thirteenth place with 18 games lost.
