Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Kocaeli (11-19) was outscored by ninth ranked Haremspor (14-16) in Izmit 106-85 on Sunday. Haremspor dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Kocaeli's 38. Haremspor forced 20 Kocaeli turnovers and outrebounded them 33-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Kocaeli's players. Montenegrin center Gligorije Rakocevic (211-1995, college: Oregon St.) notched a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 17-of-19 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Tugberk Gedikli (192-1991) supported him with 12 points and 14 assists. Four Haremspor players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by center Eren Beyaz (208-1985) did not help to save the game for Kocaeli. Forward Murat Erensoy (201-1991) added 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Haremspor maintains ninth position with 14-16 record. Kocaeli lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Bornova and Mamak.
