Very expected game when Ankaragucu (0-3) lost to Kapakli Spor (2-1) in Tekirdag 104-108 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Kapakli Spor made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Ankaragucu's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Troy Franklin (183-1989, college: Coppin St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 assists. Kemal Aktuna (-1995) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) came up with 31 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Marcus Weathers (196-1997, college: SMU) added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively for Ankaragucu in the defeat. Five Kapakli Spor and four Ankaragucu players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Kapakli Spor will meet Konyaspor (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ankaragucu will play against Final Spor (#17) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
