Regular Season Round 2: Cerkezkoy - Bogazici 90-69

Everything went according to plan when Cerkezkoy outscored at home Bogazici 90-69 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bogazici 48-23 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cerkezkoy looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Ionna McKenzie (188-1996, college: Texas Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Basak Gemalmaz (-2002) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Coach Ercan Cete's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players saving starting five for next games. American guard Lianna Tillman (175, college: Sacramento St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists and Ipek Garip (-2002) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Cerkezkoy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bogazici will play against Ferhatoglu and hope to win that game.
