The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Antalya (3-1) in Istanbul on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked Emlak (2-2) 94-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Antalya. They outrebounded Antalya 43-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Emlak looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian forward Alanna Smith (193-1996, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds and American guard Sydney Wiese (183-1995, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) who added 12 points and 10 assists during the contest. Emlak's coach Murat Alkas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Destanni Henderson (170-1999, college: S.Carolina) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and her fellow American import center Kelsey Bone (193-1991, college: Texas A&M) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Emlak moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Antalya at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Fenerbahce and Mersin. Emlak is looking forward to face Izmit (#6) in Kocaeli in the next round. Antalya will play on the road against Kayseri (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
