Regular Season Round 5: Fenerbahce - Hatay 114-48

Undefeated leader Fenerbahce delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Hatay (0-4) 114-48 in Istanbul. Fenerbahce dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Hatay's 16. Fenerbahce forced 23 Hatay turnovers and outrebounded them 53-23 including a 40-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hatay's players. The former international center Tilbe Senyurek (190-1995) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-1993, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce's coach Valerie Garnier felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Kosovan point guard Alexis Tolefree (173-1998, college: Arkansas) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Katrina Pardee (173-1997, college: WVU) added 15 points in the effort for Hatay. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Fenerbahce. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Ormanspor. Hatay lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Fenerbahce will play against Botas (#7) in Adana in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hatay will play at home against Izmit (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
