Regular Season Round 1: Mustangs - KOS 89-63

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of KOS in Mistelbach on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Mustangs 89-63. The game without a history. Mustangs led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KOS's 38 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded KOS 46-27 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mustangs looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by KOS's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech forward Jakub Jokl (211-1996, college: Utah) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Christoph Leydolf (191-1999) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Mustangs players scored in double figures. Mustangs' coach Martin Weissenboeck felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Stefan Blazevic (198-2002, agency: AltusBasket) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Slovenian forward Andi Smrtnik (196-1994) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for KOS. Mustangs is looking forward to face Alligators in Deutsch-Wagram in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. KOS will play at home against Lions and is hoping to win this game.
