Not a big story in a game when MLP Academics Heidelberg (0-3) was defeated at home by EWE Baskets (2-1) 92-83 on Saturday. Strangely MLP Academics Heidelberg outrebounded EWE Baskets 37-25 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard DeWayne Russell (180-1994, college: GCU) who scored 21 points and 6 assists. British Deane Williams (203-1996, college: Augusta) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Belgian Elias Lasisi (191-1992) who recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Belgian Vincent Kesteloot (198-1995) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. EWE Baskets will meet at home Seawolves (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Tigers (#12) in Tuebingen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
