Regular Season Round 5: Bramsche - Rendsburg 97-91

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Bramsche (2-1) beat at home bottom-ranked Rendsburg (0-3) 97-91 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bramsche made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Jan Seitz (187-1997) who scored 9 points and 14 assists. American point guard David Simental (188-1998, college: Regis Univ.) chipped in 19 points. American forward Josh Meyer (201, college: S.Oregon) produced 23 points and forward Henning Rixen (196-1999) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bramsche moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Langen and Westerstede. Loser Rendsburg still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Wusterhausen. Bramsche will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rendsburg will play against Westerstede (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
