Regular Season Round 2: Besiktas - Tofas 69-54

There was a surprise result when Besiktas defeated Tofas in Istanbul 69-54 on Sunday. Besiktas forced 19 Tofas turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Jonah Mathews (190-1998, college: USC) notched 16 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Dominican Angel Delgado (208-1994, college: Seton Hall) supported him with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Caleb Homesley (198-1996, college: Liberty) did not help to save the game for Tofas. Center Ege Demir (209-2004) added 12 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas will meet Bursaspor on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Tofas will play against Merkezefendi in Denizl and hope to win that game.
