Regular Season Round 2: Urspring - Chemnitz 76-68

There was a minor upset when NINERS lost on the road to Urspring 76-68 on Sunday. Urspring forced 24 NINERS turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Urspring made 7 blocks. Naturalized Hungarian Leonhard Laar (204-2006) notched 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Estonian point guard Jorke Aav (184-2005) supported him with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Urspring players scored in double figures. Even 24 points by point guard Lennard Glowka (197-2006) did not help to save the game for NINERS. Luca Kellig (191-2006) added 22 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Urspring will meet Basketball-Akademie in the next round where they are favorite. NINERS will play against Ludwigsburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
