Rather predictable result when leader Giessen (3-0) edged on the road 9th ranked Ulm BBU 01 (1-3) 70-68 on Sunday. Strangely Ulm BBU 01 outrebounded Giessen 36-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Serbian Nemanja Nadjfeji (198-2000) who scored 17 points and 9 assists. American forward Josiah De La Cerda (203, college: OUAZ) chipped in 20 points. Bulgarian forward Simeon Dimitrov (200-2004) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Linus Stoll (177-2004) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Giessen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Stade and Haiterbach. Loser Ulm BBU 01 dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Giessen will meet at home Stuttgart MVT (#5) in the next round.
