Regular Season Round 1: Gargzdu SM - Tornado KM 67-87

Very significant was Tornado KM's 20-point road victory against Gargzdu SM 87-67. The game without a history. Tornado KM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Tornado KM forced 22 Gargzdu SM turnovers. Swingman Tomas Rimkus (194-2006) nailed 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Armandas Bancevicius (203-2006) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Tornado KM players scored in double figures. Forward Juozas Virkutis (201-2006) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Jonas Tiapkovas (-2006) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Gargzdu SM in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tornado KM will play against Utenos in Utena in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gargzdu SM will play on the road against Zalgiris in Kaunas to get more than just one victory in their record.
