There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Rendsburg (1-3) edged on the road higher ranked Westerstede (2-2) 83-80 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Meyer (201, college: S.Oregon) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Gbenga Hansen (183-2002) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Joel Harms (207-2002) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Ukrainian guard Rauf Amirbekov (191-2004) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rendsburg left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Westerstede dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Jahn Muenchen. Rendsburg will meet at home Wusterhausen (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Westerstede will play against the league's leader Neustadt TSV (#1) and hope to secure a win.
