Regular Season Round 6: Hamm - Hagen BG 92-84

There was an upset when top-ranked Hagen BG (6-1) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Hamm (3-3) 92-84 on Saturday. Hamm outrebounded Hagen BG 50-34 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Jascal Knoerig (206-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Canadian Gilbert Gyamfi (193, college: John Brown) chipped in 25 points. Hamm's coach Ivan Rosic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Shawn Scott (185-1996, college: SW Christian) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and Dutch forward Quincy Tjon Affo (203-2000, college: Hill JC) added 24 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Hagen BG players scored in double figures. Hamm moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Salzkotten and Muenster 2. Loser Hagen BG still keeps top position with one game lost. Hamm will meet higher ranked Wulfen (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hagen BG will play against Loewen (#9) in Herten and hope to secure a win.
