But Flames were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Jennersdorf 72-61 on Sunday night. Flames were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-8 charge of Blackbirds, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Flames' 26. They outrebounded Flames 46-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Sebastian Koch (202-1988) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Bernhard Koch (190-1991) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Blackbirds players scored in double figures. Forward Leonardo Lovrin (196-2003) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Dean-Leon Cantor (180-2004) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blackbirds will meet at home KOS in the next round. Flames will play against Raiders Tirol in Innsbruck and hope to win that game.
