Regular Season Round 4: Botas GA - Cankirispor 79-61

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Cankirispor (0-4) lost to sixth ranked Botas GA (3-1) in Ankara 61-79 on Sunday. Botas GA forced 27 Cankirispor turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by forward Buket Unal (180-2001) who scored that evening 23 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Isik Guven (173-2005) supported her with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds by American center Tearra Banks (188-1995, college: Austin Peay) did not help to save the game for Cankirispor. Guard Halime Uykan (165-1989) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Botas GA moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Cankirispor still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Mersin G.. Botas GA will meet Burhaniye (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cankirispor will play against Cerkezkoy (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
