There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Emlak (3-3) lost to eleventh ranked Kayseri (3-3) in Istanbul 63-80 on Monday. Kayseri forced 22 Emlak turnovers and outrebounded them 36-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Aysegul Gunay (172-1992) notched 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Romanian forward Claudia Cuic (182-1989) supported her with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Kayseri players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 6 assists by American guard Sydney Wiese (183-1995, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Emlak. Latvian guard Ilze Jakobsone (168-1994) added 10 points. Kayseri moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Emlak.
