Very expected game in Kaunas where Gargzdu SM was rolled over by Zalgiris 92-69 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdu SM's 38. Zalgiris forced 27 Gargzdu SM turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Martynas Kancevicius (203-2006) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Irmantas Grikselis (191-2006) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Forward Paulius Kulikauskas (203-2006) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Jonas Tiapkovas (-2006) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zalgiris will meet Utenos in the next round. Gargzdu SM will play against Druskininku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
