There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Turgutlu (3-2) beat on the road 4th placed Bodrum (3-2) 79-72 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Bodrum 40-23 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Turgutlu looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Lauren Ebo (193-2000, college: Notre Dame) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Sule Aktas (-1998) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Turgutlu players scored in double figures. American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) produced 27 points and 4 steals and Irem Akat (-2001) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Bodrum's coach Guray Kurtulus tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Turgutlu. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Bodrum. Turgutlu will meet at home Bogazici (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bodrum will play against Fenerbahce G. (#13) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
