Neptunas-Akv.'s fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Stekas (2-3) 72-67. Neptunas-Akv. dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Stekas' 22. They outrebounded Stekas 43-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Neptunas-Akv. brought some defensive toughness making 20 blocks. Center Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-1985, college: Virginia) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Matas Repsys (205-2002) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Neptunas-Akv. players scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Alfredas Kaniava allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-1991) responded with 15 points and 6 assists and Mantas Serksnas (200-1996, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points and 4 blocks. Neptunas-Akv. (1-4) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Zalgiris II. Stekas at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Zalgiris II (#12) in Kaunas in the next round. Stekas will play at home against Atletas (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
