There was a minor upset in Izmir where one of their biggest challengers Turk Telekom (2-2) was rolled over by thirteenth ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (2-2) 100-80 on Saturday. Pinar Karsiyaka dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 30 and made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 36-23 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pinar Karsiyaka looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Errick McCollum (188-1988, college: Goshen) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 assists and Vitto Brown (203-1995, college: Wisconsin) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jalen Adams (191-1995, college: UConn, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and guard Tyrone Wallace (196-1994, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pinar Karsiyaka moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Turk Telekom. Pinar Karsiyaka will meet Dacka (#7) in the next round. Turk Telekom will play against Acibadem and hope to secure a win.
