Regular Season Round 4: Polit-Halychyna - Zaporizhye 68-80

Not a big story in a game in Lviv where 10th ranked Polit-Halychyna (2-4) was defeated by third ranked Zaporizhye (3-2) 80-68 on Saturday. Polit-Halychyna was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 26-11 charge of Zaporizhye, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Polit-Halychyna turnovers and outrebounded them 53-34 including a 25-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Oleksandr Sizov (197-1988) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds and forward Roman Morozov (204) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Zaporizhye players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard JaCor Nelson (190-1999, college: Central Mo.) responded with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Maksym Safonov (190-2003) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Zaporizhye went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Cherkasy. Loser Polit-Halychyna dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Zaporizhye will meet Cherkasy (#4) on the road in the next round. Polit-Halychyna will have a break next round.
