Regular Season Round 7: Aschersleben - Bramsche 102-89

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Bramsche (2-2) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Aschersleben (2-2) 102-89 on Saturday. Aschersleben outrebounded Bramsche 48-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Yannick Von Hain (192-2002) fired 30 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Benjamin Hohmann chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. American point guard David Simental (188-1998, college: Regis Univ.) produced 30 points and 7 rebounds and Moritz Dresing (194-2001) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aschersleben moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bramsche and Dresden Tit. 2. Aschersleben will meet Wusterhausen (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bramsche will play against the league's second-placed Bargteheide (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
