Very important is a road loss of second ranked Rasta Vechta (3-1) against fourth ranked ALBA Berlin (3-1) on Sunday night. Visiting Rasta Vechta was defeated by ALBA Berlin in Berlin 98-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rasta Vechta. ALBA Berlin players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian guard Matteo Spagnolo (193-2003) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international Johannes Thiemann (206-1994) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. American guard Tommy Kuhse (188-1998, college: SMC) replied with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Joel-Sadu Aminu (192-1997) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Rasta Vechta. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ALBA Berlin moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Rasta Vechta. ALBA Berlin will play against BG Goettingen (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rasta Vechta will play against Braunschweig (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
