Very important is a home loss of second ranked Gunners Oberwart (3-1) against fifth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (3-1) on Sunday night. Host Gunners Oberwart was crushed by Kapfenberg Bulls in Oberwart 106-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gunners Oberwart. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Kapfenberg Bulls's pressure prevailed and they won that period 32-18 extending their advantage to 21 points. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Gunners Oberwart was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian point guard Ali Sow (185-1998, college: Laurier) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and Canadian guard Rudi Williams (188-1998, college: BYU, agency: Green Sports Management) who added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Kapfenberg Bulls' coach Antonio Herrera felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward James Graham (201-2000, college: AUM) responded with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international center Daniel Koeppel (210) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Kapfenberg Bulls and four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with St.Poelten and Oberwart. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against BC Vienna (#6) at home in the next round. Gunners Oberwart will play against UBSC Graz (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
