Regular Season Round 4: Vienna - Wels 92-61
Date: October 22, 2023
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (2-2) were smashed on the road by seventh ranked BC Vienna (2-1) 92-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. BC Vienna led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by the former international center Jozo Rados (206-1993) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Bogic Vujosevic (192-1992) supported him with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Four BC Vienna players scored in double figures. Coach Hrvoje Radanovic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points by international forward Renato Poljak (202-1997) did not help to save the game for Raiffeisen Flyers Wels. American forward Chris Ferguson (206-1989, college: Mid-Continent) added 9 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. BC Vienna moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gmunden. Loser Raiffeisen Flyers Wels dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Traiskirchen. BC Vienna will meet league's second-placed Kapfenberg Bulls on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will play against Gmunden Swans (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
