Regular Season Round 4: Muenster - Jena 81-70

There was an upset when much higher ranked Science City Jena (3-1) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Muenster (2-2) 81-70 on Sunday. The winners were led by American swingman Carlos Carter (197-1999, college: Shippensburg) who scored that evening 29 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Avi Toomer (187-1997, college: Bucknell) supported him with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Toomer attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by center Robin Lodders (205-1994) did not help to save the game for Science City Jena. American point guard Blake Francis (183-1998, college: Richmond) added 18 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Muenster moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Science City Jena keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Muenster will meet Uni Baskets (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Science City Jena will play against Bayreuth (#7) and hope to secure a win.
