Regular Season Round 7: Braunschweig - Goetting.ASC 88-119

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Goetting.ASC's (2-1) road victory over 8th ranked Braunschweig (1-3) 119-88 on Sunday. Goetting.ASC dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Braunschweig's 44 and made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game, while Braunschweig only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Braunschweig 49-20 including a 35-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Goetting.ASC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Christopher Schultz (194-2003) fired 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners. Swingman Nick Boakye (196-1995) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists. Four Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Point guard Gian Aydinoglu (189-2003) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Jeremy Ingram (183-1991, college: AAMU) added 26 points respectively for lost side. Goetting.ASC moved-up to fourth place. Loser Braunschweig dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Bamberg and Wusterhausen. Goetting.ASC will meet at home league's leader Neustadt TSV in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Braunschweig will play against Oldenburger TB (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
