Regular Season Round 2: DBB LZ OOE - BK Duchess 54-75

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of DBB LZ OOE in Linz. Hosts were rolled over by BK Duchess 75-54. The game was mostly controlled by BK Duchess. DBB LZ OOE was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding DBB LZ OOE to just 7 points in second quarter. Forward Sarah Winkler (178-2002, college: E.Florida St.) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Lisa Zderadicka (168-1994, college: FGCU) supported her with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. BK Duchess' coach Franz Zderadicka felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 11 points and 18 rebounds by forward Lara Mendl (170-2003) did not help to save the game for DBB LZ OOE. Guard Lisa Ganhor (167-2001) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the hosts. BK Duchess will play against St.Poelten in Sankt Poelten in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. DBB LZ OOE will play on the road against UBI Graz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
