Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Duesseldorf (2-3) was defeated on the road by third ranked Kirchheim Knights (4-1) 87-79 on Friday. Strangely Duesseldorf outrebounded Kirchheim Knights 51-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kirchheim Knights made 9 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Michael Flowers (185-1999, college: WSU) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Nick Muszynski (211-1998, college: Belmont) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Swingman Raiquan Clark (198, college: LIU Brooklyn) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and point guard Ben Shungu (188-1997, college: Vermont) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to second place, which they share with Trier and Hagen.
