There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Cankirispor (2-5) beat at home 12th ranked Urla (2-5) 90-85 on Friday. Cankirispor made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Tearra Banks (188-1995, college: Austin Peay) who led the winners and scored 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Guard Halime Uykan (165-1989) accounted for 11 points and 8 assists for the winning side. American forward Angela Tompkins (188-1991, college: Wichita St., agency: ThePlayersPick) came up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Hilal Bayraktar (163-2000) added 16 points respectively for Urla in the defeat. Cankirispor moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with defeated Urla. Urla lost fourth consecutive game.
