The most surprising game was the first loss of ratiopharm Ulm (4-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by thirteenth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (2-2) 99-70. American guard Silas Melson (193-1996, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. His fellow American import forward Elijah Childs (202-1999, college: Bradley) contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Melson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Dominican forward LJ Figueroa (198-1998, college: Oregon) answered with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Brazilian point guard Georginho Paula (197-1996) added 14 points in the effort for ratiopharm Ulm. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Rostock and Wuerzburg. ratiopharm Ulm at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 5 other teams.
