Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Rasta Vechta (4-1) won against at home 9th ranked Braunschweig (2-3) 97-90 on Saturday. Rasta Vechta made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Braunschweig outrebounded Rasta Vechta 44-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. American forward Wes Iwundu (198-1994, college: Kansas St.) nailed 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Tommy Kuhse (188-1998, college: SMC) accounted for 17 points and 7 assists. Five Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. Angolan center Jilson Bango (208-1999) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American guard Ahmaad Rorie (186-1995, college: Montana) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Braunschweig in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rasta Vechta keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams.
