Very expected game when 15th ranked Bornova (2-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Gaziantep (6-2) 85-72 on Saturday. Gaziantep outrebounded Bornova 50-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Maurice Watson (178-1993, college: Creighton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists and the former international center Dusan Cantekin (221-1990) who added 20 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American point guard JJ Frazier (178-1995, college: Georgia) responded with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Joshua Patton (203-1997, college: Sacramento St.) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gaziantep maintains third position with 6-2 record behind leader Sigortam.net, which they share with Haremspor. Bornova at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Kocaeli and Ormanspor. Gaziantep will meet at home league's leader Sigortam.net in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bornova will play against Final Spor (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
