Very predictable result when sixth ranked Hamm (5-3) defeated at home 12th ranked Leverkusen 2 (2-7) 91-76 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Canadian Gilbert Gyamfi (193, college: John Brown) who scored 31 points and 5 rebounds. Center Jascal Knoerig (206-2000) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Point guard Emre Ozel (181-2004) produced 17 points and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and center Jonas Gottschalk (218-1998) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Hamm and four Leverkusen 2 players scored in double figures. Leverkusen 2's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamm have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Grevenbroich and Hagen-Haspe. Loser Leverkusen 2 keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Hamm will meet Koeln DTV (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leverkusen 2 will play against Loewen and hope to secure a win.
