Regular Season Round 8: Vilkaviskis - Rytas 2 92-72
Date: October 28, 2023
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Vilkaviskis (5-3) crushed at home bottom-ranked Rytas 2 (1-7) 92-72 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vilkaviskis made 18 blocks. The winners were led by Rokas Stankevicius (202-1995, agency: BIG) who scored that evening 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Justin Tucker (202-1998, college: Keiser) supported him with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds by Gediminas Alisas (196-2004) did not help to save the game for Rytas 2. Guard Gantas Krizanauskas (186-2006) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vilkaviskis moved-up to fifth place. Loser Rytas 2 stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Neptunas-Akv.. Vilkaviskis will meet higher ranked Suduva-Mantinga (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rytas 2 will play against Neptunas-Akv. (#13) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
