SparkassenStars can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Artland Dragons (0-6) 80-79 on Sunday. Point guard Vincent Friederici (190-2001, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Niklas Geske (188-1994) chipped in 16 points and 11 assists during the contest. Friederici is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Kilian Binapfl (198-2000) with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Aaron Kayser (205-1999) scored 16 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). SparkassenStars (1-5) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Vechta 2. It was Artland Dragons' sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. SparkassenStars will meet Vechta-2 (#17) on the road in the next round. Artland Dragons will play against Lions and hope to get finally their first victory.
