Darussafaka (2-1) recorded a loss in Istanbul. Hosts were rolled over by Anadolu Efes (2-0) 95-68. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Darussafaka's 42. They outrebounded Darussafaka 46-30 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Anadolu Efes players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Darussafaka's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Darussafaka was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Melih Tunca (196-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists. Center Mehmet Demirel (214-2005) helped adding 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Tyron Bourne (-2005) with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Yaman Alisan (193-2006) scored 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes will play against Samsunspor (#18) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Darussafaka will play against Bahcesehir (#5) in Acibadem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
