Regular Season Round 6: Galomar - Benfica 70-78

Rather predictable result when fifth rankedBenfica (4-2) defeated on the road 7th ranked Galomar (2-4) 78-70 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was naturalized Cape Verdean Ivan Almeida (198-1989, college: Stonehill) who scored 27 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). American center Terrell Carter II (208-1996, college: Fresno St.) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Malcolm Drumwright (188-1995, college: Jax State) who recorded 16 points and 8 assists and his fellow American import guard KeShawn Curry (195-1998, college: VCU) added 16 points respectively. Four Benfica and five Galomar players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains fifth position with 4-2 record. Galomar lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Povoa and Imortal.
