There was no surprise when 7th rankedPloiesti CSU (1-3) was outleveled at home by top-ranked Steaua B. (4-0) 96-41 on Sunday. The game without a history. Steaua B. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ploiesti CSU to just 6 points in second quarter. Steaua B. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Ploiesti CSU 's 32. Steaua B. forced 26 Ploiesti CSU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Ploiesti CSU 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Steaua B. made 8 blocks. The winners were led by American guard BJ Fitzgerald (198-2000, college: Virginia St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists and 7 steals and Vladimir Sparlac (202-2005) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists.
