Bottom-rankedMersin G. managed to get the second consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time newly promoted Mersin G. outleveled fourteenth-ranked Burhaniye in Balikesir 85-55 . It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 30-point difference proves that Mersin G. was well-prepared to that game. And what about a second win in a row after ...seven consecutive losses. Mersin G. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Burhaniye 's 24. Mersin G. forced 20 Burhaniye turnovers and outrebounded them 45-26 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mersin G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Burhaniye 's players. The best player for the winners was American center Danielle Adams (185-1989, college: Texas A&M) who scored 42 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Asya Ulker (170-2006) chipped in 7 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Sema Senol (-2001) who recorded 14 points and 6 steals and American center Terri Battle (188-1999, college: Tampa) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mersin G. (2-7) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Fenerbahce G. and Cankirispor. Burhaniye lost sixth consecutive game. Burhaniye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost.
