Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth rankedBesiktas and 5th ranked Petkimspor had identical 5-2 record. This time Besiktas used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Izmir 66-62 on Saturday night. The winners were led by Dominican Angel Delgado (208-1994, college: Seton Hall) who scored that evening 4 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Jonah Mathews (190-1998, college: USC) supported him with 15 points. Besiktas' coach Dusan Alimpijevic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds by American swingman Khyri Thomas (190-1996, college: Creighton) did not help to save the game for Petkimspor . His fellow American import center Jeremy Simmons (204-1989, college: Charleston) added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Four Petkimspor players scored in double figures. Besiktas (6-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Darussafaka. Loser Petkimspor keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Pinar Karsiyaka and Bursaspor.
