There was an upset when higher rankedGiessen (6-3) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Mannheim (3-7) 91-78 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Russian Albert Kuppe (200-1988) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Center Max Bohrmann (207-1991) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Five Mannheim players scored in double figures. Naturalized Serbian Nemanja Nadjfeji (198-2000) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and naturalized American Elijah Allen (194-1989, college: NW Missouri St.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Giessen in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mannheim moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Giessen keeps the fifth position with three games lost.
