The game had a very big importance for second-rankedTornado KM as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tornado KM smashed 6th ranked Perkunas in Kaunas 89-63 . The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-63. Tornado KM dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Perkunas ' 44. They outrebounded Perkunas 50-33 including 20 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tornado KM made 7 blocks. It was a good game for Armandas Bancevicius (203-2006) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Center Arminas Vilkas (200-2007) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Kajus Gerdziunas (195-2007) replied with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Mantas Laurencikas (189-2006) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Perkunas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tornado KM (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with VKKM. Perkunas at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams.
