The most exciting game of round 7 in the Liga I took place in Iasi. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th rankedPolitehnica Iasi (3-4) to fifth ranked Targu Mures 2 (4-2) 87-84 on Sunday evening. Politehnica Iasi was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 27-19 charge of Targu Mures 2, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vlad Nistor (181-2005) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Forward Andrei Muresan (198-2003) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Liviu Rotariu (192-1993) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Alexandru Padineanu (193-1993) added 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Politehnica Iasi. Targu Mures 2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Politehnica Iasi at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Ploiesti CSM 2.
