Liga I top team -Steaua (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Targu Jiu 2 (4-4) in Rovinari 105-53 . The game without a history. Steaua led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Jiu 2 's 30. Steaua forced 30 Targu Jiu 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 46-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard BJ Fitzgerald (198-2000, college: Virginia St.) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Joey Potts (208-1999, college: Oregon Tech) who added 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Steaua B. players scored in double figures. Forward Adrian Vaida (-2003) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and British guard Andrei Baragan (188-2003) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Steaua have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Targu Jiu 2 lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
