Regular Season Round 8: Utenos - VKM 83-93

No shocking result in a game in Utena where fifth rankedVKM (5-3) defeated 9th ranked Utenos (3-6) 93-83 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by VKM. Utenos managed to win fourth quarter 34-22 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Utenos 44-32 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Grantas Strelciunas (185-2007) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and guard Kipras Redeckas (190-2007) who added 8 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Center Justas Vinikas (160-2006) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and point guard Titas Didzgalvis (181-2006) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Utenos' coach Ernestas Leipus tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. VKM moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Panevezio. Utenos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with six games lost.
